Torquay Coast is committed to a school wide approach to Positive Behaviour. Our aim is to create a positive school climate, a culture of student competence and an open, responsive management system for all school community members. Introducing, modelling and reinforcing positive social behaviour is an important component of a student’s educational experience. Teaching behavioural expectations and rewarding or recognising students for following them is a much more positive approach than waiting for misbehaviour to occur before responding. Torquay Coast Primary School approaches issues with behaviour through a consistent and restorative approach.
If your child is in Grade 4-6 at TCPS, they will be eligible to participate in the TCPS 1:1BYOD iPad program.
For this program to be a fully comprehensive 1:1 Program we invite parents to supply students with their own iPad which they will be able to use between school and home.
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) – This is for students going into grade 4 or who are new to our school in grades 5 and 6. The device must be able to run iOS13 or iOS14 (as well as have its own protective case.).
All currently enrolled students at TCPS who are going into grade 5 and 6 in 2021 already have their own personal compatible device that they have been using throughout the 2021 school year.
Compass is our school communication network. Compass is used to inform our families of school activities, sick bay visits, and communications from your child’s Learning Communities and student reporting. Compass can be downloaded onto your mobile phone. Through Compass you can advise of absences, provide consent for upcoming excursions and read current news items for the school.
